Jerk Shrimp Salad
Indulge in fiery flavors of my spicy Jerk Shrimp Salad. Grilled marinated shrimp, crisp greens, vibrant fruits & veggies for a Caribbean twist

- 1 tbsp Jerk Marinade
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp green seasoning optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For Salad
- romaine lettuce
- spinach optional
- 1 Roma tomato diced
- 1 avocado sliced
- plantain croutons
- red onions thinly sliced
- parmesan cheese optional
Mango salsa
- 1-2 mangos diced
- 2 limes juice
- 1/2 jalapeno diced
- 1/4 red onion diced
- handful cilantro chopped
- 1/2 tsp Chile lime seasoning or to taste
- salt + pepper to taste
For dressing
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2-3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 shallot minced
- 2 cloves garlic minced/grated
- red pepper flakes use to your discretion
- 1 tbsp epis (green seasoning) optional
- salt + pepper to taste
- 1/2 lemon juice
Clean shrimp and pat dry. (remove as much moisture as possible)
Then add 1 Tbsp of Jerk Marinade, 1 tbsp of olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, green seasoning and let shrimp marinate for at least 30 min. While shrimp is marinating, prepare your mango salsa by chopping mango, cilantro, red onion, jalapeño and add it into a bowl. Add in Chile lime seasoning, salt, pepper and lime juice. Adjust seasoning to taste. For dressing, in a bowl or sealable jar, add in 1 tbsp olive oil, Epís, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Seal the jar and shake well until combined. Refrigerate until read to use
In a hot skillet over medium high heat- add in your favorite cooking oil and sear shrimp on both sides until cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
In a large salad bowl, combine the greens, shrimp, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, and plantain croutons. Pour the dressing on the salad and toss well. Enjoy!
Green seasoning is seasoning base used throughout many Caribbean countries made with a variety of fresh herbs and spices; parsley, cilantro, scotch bonnet, bell peppers, garlic, red onion, green onion, thyme and all spice. It's blended to perfection and used to marinate a variety of dishes. I used it for the shrimp and to make my dressing.
NOTE - If you don't have Green seasoning, feel free to just add some fresh herbs like cilantro, and parsley and garlic paste to the dressing.
