Holiday Eggnog Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg room temp
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted, melted +1 tbsp
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Eggnog Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tbsp eggnog
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl combine all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. In another bowl combine 5 tbsp of melted butter and both granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix until combined and smooth. Then whisk in the egg, eggnog, and sour cream until smooth.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • To a bundt pan, brush 1 tbsp of melted butter and 1 tbsp of all purpose flour to coat and prep the pan.
  • Pour the batter in to a prepared loaf or bundt pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the loaf to rest for 10 minutes to cool, before slicing
  • While the loaf rests prepare the icing. Combine powdered sugar, eggnog, whole milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Pour the icing over the loaf. Top with chopped pecans if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
